DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is the top choice of students of the local government-run University of Caloocan City (UCC).
In the university’s mock elections, the tough-talking official gained 44.98% of the votes. He is running under PDP-Laban on a platform of fighting criminality and illegal drugs and the restoration of law and order.
Duterte was followed by lady senators Grace Poe and Miriam Defensor-Santiago with 19.3% and 17.6%, respectively.
Opposition leader Vice President Jejomar Binay and administration’s standard-bearer former interior and transportation secretary Mar Roxas are at the bottom two with 12.54% and 4.09%, respectively.
Meanwhile, Senator Bongbong Marcos was the top pick among vice presidential candidates with 40.15%. It came as no surprise since Marcos was the only national candidate who visited the UCC students.
Behind Marcos were Sen. Chiz Escudero (31.02%), Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano (9.97%), Congresswoman Leni Robredo (9.74%), Sen. Antonio Trillanes (4.19%) and Sen. Gringo Honasan (1.46%).
